Can I maintain a high academic standard?

Scientifically valid research, conducted repeatedly on a number of continents and in varying countries across the world, has unequivocally proven that homeschoolers perform better than their school-going peers (National Home Education Research Institute—NHERI, Salem, Oregon, USA)

In South Africa, these phenomenal and staggering research results were once again confirmed in 2004 (UNISA – Bester Research) and in fact, South Africa has probably one of the highest homeschooling academic success rates versus public schooling, in the world.

This should come as no surprise really, because no-one knows your children better than you do. No-one cares or loves them as much! Homeschooling affords you the opportunity to offer your child focused individual attention. And this, by a loving, caring, dedicated and committed parent who is intimately aware of every nuance of their child’s behaviour! At home you can ensure that your child’s unique needs are recognised and appropriately met, within the context of a loving, nurturing and natural home and family environment; one flowing in respect and encouragement. It does require dedication, energy, time and passion, but once these elements are in place, research shows that on average, homeschooling is the best and most blessed education you can offer your child!

At a practical level Love2Learn Curriculum provides you with the day-by-day, and minute-by-minute lesson plans (which we call ENGINE ROOMS), as well as all the books and resources with which to promote your children’s academic development to a level of excellence; all the preparation has already been done for you – all you need do is make a cup of coffee in the morning and begin teaching! But this is not the only goal of home-education; we consider it a ministry of discipleship to our children. So, concomitantly with the daily focus on academics, you, the parent, are also able to care for your child’s spiritual growth and the development of Godly character.

It goes beyond this too! In the warmth of your home, you are able to offer your children the opportunity to explore new interests, devote time and resources to their passions and talents, while at the same time offering support for any areas of weakness. Love2Learn Curriculum offers customized programmes to remediate areas of weakness, and also to build into, support and accelerate areas of strength. Ample opportunity is given to the completion of compulsory subjects.

However, in addition to this, your child can explore fascinating extension subjects, which we call "Enrichment", e.g. Art appreciation, Music Appreciation, Music Theory, Practical Art, right through to First Aid, Digital Photography, Languages and Outdoor Survival Skills!

Not only will you be able to maintain a high academic standard, but you will be able to offer a far broader, richer and varied education than your child is likely to ever receive at a conventional school, a home-grown education that is relevant and meaningful, an education that inspires a life-long passion and love for learning!
