Selecting Subjects For IGCSE, Contacting Tertiary Institutions And The Matriculation Board

A student will need to select a minimum of FIVE subjects from the lists above.

We strongly recommend that at some point during their Grade 9 year, students make contact with the faculty of the University or Tertiary Education Institution they are most likely to attend, as well as the Matriculation Board of South Africa, if they reside in this country.  It is essential that the student obtain guidance from them as to which subjects they (the student) will need to present upon application.

Love2Learn does not offer advice in this area, as the subject choice requirements, combinations and possibilities are as vast as there are Tertiary Institutions!  So, in this instance, we throw the ball back into your court and request that you do the necessary home-work based upon the field of study your son or daughter is likely to pursue.

Certain subject combinations are not permitted.  You are welcome to visit the Matriculation Board Web-Site to obtain details regarding subject combinations and Matric Exemption - http://www.hesa-enrol.ac.za/mb/forpres.htm
